My first post on 385 North.

I have wanted to start a second blog about my creative side. I love photography, making hair bows, decorating my house the list goes on and on.

My first creative project was a handwritten name back stitched on to fabric.

These are pictures of my kids handwriting. I gave these as a Christmas gift to my MIL.

What I did was:

1. Had my kids write there names down on a piece of paper.
2. I transferred that on to some wash away interfacing.
3. I then transfered the interfacing on to some fabric and backed stitched over the names.
4. When that was done, I washed the interfacing a way.
5. I ironed it and put it in a picture frame.

This was really easy. I also made one for each of my kids school teachers saying "world best teacher" . This was also done in my kids hand writing. The teachers loved them. I also made one for daughters primary teacher. It said something like. "The worlds very best primary teachers". Each word was done by a child from the class. Again the loved it.

  7. This is so cute. I saw on a blog one time where the lady had taken her child's handprint and stitched around it as a gift for her mom. I love the "world's best teacher" idea and I think I will do that for my daughter's preschool teacher this year! Thanks for sharing this!
